Russian drones struck a high-rise apartment building in Chernihiv, according to Volodymyr Tymoshko, head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Chernihiv region.

Photos and videos show that the attack partially destroyed the building, damaging its facade and windows.

According to preliminary information, at least 14 people were injured, including children aged 12 and 17.

The regional police chief said the city came under a Shahed drone attack around noon, possibly involving jet-powered drones. Another possibility is that the attack involved a Bandеrol drone, but the exact type will be determined after further analysis.

“The strike was carried out to intimidate us and to ‘congratulate’ us on Independence Day,” the police chief said.

Russian forces have also been heavily attacking Odesa and the surrounding region since the morning. Two Epicentr hypermarkets were destroyed in the city, and fires broke out.

In Konotop, a Russian strike destroyed a fleet of city and intercity buses, potentially causing a shortage of public transportation. The city is also currently without gas.
