"There are spasms that are simply impossible to control. You know the feeling when you wake up at night due to cramps in your leg or calf? It's a similar sensation, but it's in all muscles. We can do little to support her, to ease her pain," Claudette, the sister of the singer, described her condition.

"She's working hard, but she doesn't have control over her muscles. What breaks my heart is that she's always been disciplined," the sister added.

Despite the incurable nature of her illness, according to Claudette, Celine dreams of returning to the stage and hasn't ruled out the possibility.

The disease is poorly understood, making it very challenging to anticipate its progression. Claudette mentioned, "The vocal cords are muscles, and the heart is also a muscle. This is what comes to get me. Because it's 1 out of a million case, the scientists haven't done that much research because it didn't affect that many people."
