In Türkiye, details of upcoming talks between Zelenskyy and Erdogan revealed
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold talks today, March 8. They will discuss the war and the safety of ships in the Black Sea, according to Yahoo, and The Guardian.
According to media reports, the talks between Zelenskyy and Erdogan are scheduled for 6 p.m. Kyiv time. It is not yet known whether there will be a joint press conference.
Diplomatic sources in Türkiye tell the media that the topic of the talks between the two leaders will be Russia's war against Ukraine, and Ankara will emphasize that it supports Ukraine's territorial integrity.
"It is planned to convey that Türkiye is continuing its efforts to end the war as soon as possible on the basis of negotiations," the source says.
The two sides will also discuss a new regulation on the navigational safety of commercial vessels between Russia and Ukraine after Moscow withdrew from the grain deal.
Zelenskyy's visit to Türkiye
Yesterday Turkish media reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would visit Türkiye on March 8.
Today, the Office of the President confirmed that Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Türkiye and meet with Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In addition, the head of state will visit the shipyards where corvettes are being built for the Ukrainian Navy and meet with representatives of Turkish defense companies.
