In Tbilisi, opposition starts marches against parliamentary election results
A large number of people have gathered on Freedom Square in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. An opposition march is starting there to protest the results of the parliamentary elections, reports NEWSGEORGIA.
The published footage shows people with Georgian flags standing in anticipation of the opposition march, which was planned in advance.
Background
According to the Georgian Central Election Commission, the controversial Georgian Dream party won the parliamentary elections by a landslide.
International observers stated that a number of violations were recorded during the elections. In this regard, the opposition in Georgia declared a boycott of the new parliament and protests began in parallel.
Yesterday, as well as today, protests also took place. The other day, NewsGeorgia reported that the Georgian opposition would hold a protest march on November 9 under the slogan “No to Russian elections.”
The march was organized by several parties, namely Unity - National Movement, Coalition for Change, and Strong Georgia.
The protest was aimed at canceling the results of the parliamentary elections held on October 26. Moreover, we note that the Georgian opposition has recently announced daily protests.
