Georgia's opposition wants to organize daily protests
The Georgian opposition has announced daily protests against the results of the parliamentary elections. The new action will take place tomorrow, November 5, according to one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, Nika Melia.
According to Melia, the opposition aims to organize a powerful protest movement that "will allow us to overthrow the regime." Tomorrow’s protest will be held near the Sports Palace in Tbilisi.
"We will be on the streets every day. There must be so many of us that no one can enter here (to the parliament – ed.), but standing only on Rustaveli is not enough; we must stand on all avenues," he said.
The opposition is set to block the main transport arteries of the Georgian capital. Meanwhile, today protesters may already block traffic on the Baratashvili Bridge in downtown Tbilisi.
Protests in Georgia
According to the Central Election Commission of Georgia, the controversial party Georgian Dream won the parliamentary elections by a significant margin.
However, as noted by international observers, several violations were recorded during the elections.
In this context, the Georgian opposition has announced a boycott of the new parliament, and mass protests have already begun.
