Last year, in the city of Šiauliai, in northern Lithuania, there was an attempt to set fire to military equipment for Ukraine. Three individuals were detained, according to LRT.

"And another event I would like to mention is the latest hybrid attack against Lithuania, the attempt to burn aid for Ukraine in Šiauliai, where certain military equipment and radar stations were mobilized that were supposed to be sent to Ukraine," said Arūnas Paulauskas, the General Commissioner of the Lithuanian Police, during the annual police activity presentation.

According to him, the identities of the perpetrators were established, and the arson attempt was prevented. Three individuals were detained, and several other suspects are on international wanted lists.

Lithuania's support for Ukraine

Lithuania has been actively supporting Ukraine since the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion. It provides military assistance, including howitzers, air defense systems, drones, and ammunition, as well as training for Ukrainian soldiers. Additionally, Lithuania plays a key role in international support, lobbying for stronger sanctions against Russia and weapon supplies from partners.

In addition to military aid, Lithuania also accepts Ukrainian refugees and provides financial and humanitarian support.

In mid-February, Vilnius sent a new batch of military aid to Kyiv, including trucks, thermal vision devices, and other equipment for the army.
