In July, Ukraine may strengthen air defense capabilities - Zelenskyy
Ukraine may strengthen its air defense in July. Negotiations with partners are ongoing, according to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He said that today, July 1, he held several meetings with the teams of the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"We thoroughly discussed all plans for July in detail. This month can bring Ukraine even more strength, in particular in protecting the sky and bringing real security to our country," noted Zelenskyy.
According to him, the Ukrainian government clearly sees what needs to be implemented in negotiations with partners, primarily with the United States.
Air defense for Ukraine
Currently, one of the most critical issues for Ukraine is the decision regarding Patriot air defense systems from allies. As Zelensky pointed out, Ukraine needs at least seven such batteries.
Recently, Germany announced the transfer of one Patriot system, and Romania will provide another.
According to RBC-Ukraine's sources in the Israeli Defense Ministry, the country may receive Israeli Patriot systems. They will first be provided to the United States and then delivered to Ukrainian defenders.
