Immediate air defense reinforcement for Ukraine agreed with Germany
Ukraine is taking concrete steps to protect civilians and critical infrastructure. In particular, there is now an agreement with Germany to immediately strengthen air defense, states Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
“We are taking concrete steps to ensure the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure,” Umerov emphasized.
He explained that at the G7 defense ministers' meeting, an important agreement was signed with Germany on immediate actions to strengthen Ukraine's air defense system.
“The agreement provides for arrangements under which the signatory countries will contribute to joint projects or finance their own projects aimed at strengthening the air defense capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” he explained.
At the same time, the Defense Minister noted that five other signatory countries will join the project, in addition to Ukraine: Germany, Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands, and Denmark.
“I am sincerely grateful to Germany for the initiative and to all the participating countries for their strong contribution to Ukraine's security. Together we are bringing victory closer!” he summarized.
Yesterday, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the Ukrainian military had identified specific steps to strengthen the protection of Ukrainian skies.
He noted that the heads of the sectors had received tasks with clear deadlines to implement the relevant measures.
