IMF launches new mission in Ukraine: What's on agenda

An IMF mission has begun talks with Ukraine. The focus is on the economy, reforms, and the 2027 budget, according to the IMF's office in Ukraine.
An International Monetary Fund mission led by Gavin Gray has begun working meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian government and other stakeholders. The talks are expected to cover key issues related to the country's economic policy.

During the visit, IMF representatives intend to assess the prospects for the Ukrainian economy and discuss Kyiv's progress in fulfilling its commitments under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.
The parties will pay particular attention to the macroeconomic and structural reforms that Ukraine has committed to implementing as part of its cooperation with the Fund.
Another topic of discussion will be Ukraine's draft state budget for 2027. The parties will review the key parameters of the future budget and related economic issues.
The mission's working visit will mark the next stage in Ukraine's cooperation with the IMF under the current financing program.
The International Monetary Fund has completed the first review of Ukraine's Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, following which the country is set to receive an additional $690 million. Thus, the total amount of funds raised under the EFF will reach $2.2 billion.
