Ukraine has received another tranche of assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), amounting to $400 million, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Shmyhal explained that the funds were received following the successful seventh review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.

The total IMF support within this initiative has exceeded $10 billion.

EFF program review

In February, Ukraine and the IMF reached a staff-level agreement on the seventh review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program. A key condition for receiving the new tranche was the approval of the review by the IMF Executive Board.

That same month, RBC-Ukraine reported that the absence of a law on the establishment of the High Administrative Court (HAC)—a "structural benchmark" of the IMF funding program — could delay the next tranche. It is worth noting that this requirement was included in the IMF memorandum as early as the end of 2023.

The High Administrative Court is intended to replace the dissolved District Administrative Court of Kyiv (OASK) and will handle cases against national government bodies, such as the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), and others.
