IDF reported release of another group of hostages: Number announced
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has reported the release of another group of hostages by Hamas. The militants handed them over to representatives of the Red Cross, according to the IDF's Telegram channel.
The IDF announced the release of 12 hostages, including 10 Israelis and two Thai citizens. After undergoing initial medical examinations, they will be transported to Israeli hospitals by helicopters.
"The released hostages are on their way to hospitals where they will be reunited with their families," stated the IDF.
Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari, reported on his X account that among the released individuals are nine women and one child.
"Update: hostages released from Gaza today are 12, 10 Israelis, a minor and 9 women, including a Filipina citizen, & 2 from Argentina," mentioned the Qatari Foreign Ministry representative.
The release of hostages by Hamas
Last week, Israel signed an agreement with Hamas for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages. The first group of fighters was released by the militants on November 24, and they were transported to Israeli hospitals.
The following day, Hamas released another group of 17 individuals, handing them over to the Red Cross.
On November 26, the Red Cross received the third group of 17 individuals released from Hamas captivity.
Earlier, it was reported that Hamas released three underage French hostages.
