IDF announces elimination of Hezbollah's head of logistics in Beirut
An Israeli airstrike on Beirut resulted in the death of Suhail Hussein Husseini, head of logistics for Hezbollah. He was a key figure in the logistics and budget distribution of the organization, citing The Times of Israel.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Hussein was also a member of Hezbollah's Jihad Council, its highest military authority. He played an important role in supplying weapons from Iran and distributing modern armaments among the group’s units.
Hussein was responsible for financing and managing Hezbollah’s logistics, including coordinating terrorist attacks against Israel from Lebanon and Syria. Among his tasks was overseeing a research department focused on developing precision missiles.
IDF operations against Hezbollah
In recent months, members of the terrorist group Hezbollah have systematically shelled northern areas of Israel in support of Hamas during the conflict in the Gaza Strip. In response, the Israel Defense Forces have struck southern areas of Lebanon.
On October 1, the IDF launched an operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon aimed at destroying the group's infrastructure and leaders, as well as pushing militants away from the border so that residents of northern Israel could safely return home.
On the same day, Iran launched a massive attack on Israel, firing 180 ballistic missiles. Israel continues to strike Hezbollah headquarters and other targets in Lebanon, eliminating the group's leadership.
