Radiation levels at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant remain stable. Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) present at the facility have not recorded any increase in radiation levels, according to the IAEA.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi assured that the radiation level at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant remains stable.

"The IAEA team at Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant confirms there has been no increase in radiation levels at the site," the agency says.

Yesterday, July 29, in the evening, information began circulating online claiming that radiation levels had risen in Zaporizhzhia.

This allegedly occurred after the wind began blowing from the direction of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is temporarily occupied by Russian forces.

However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Energy refuted this information. According to their data, radiation levels in the Zaporizhzhia region remained within normal limits.

Situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

Russian troops seized the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant at the beginning of the full-scale war.

Since then, the Russian forces have repeatedly ignored the safety regulations required for operating a nuclear facility, posing a constant risk of a man-made disaster. Moreover, enemy equipment and personnel remain stationed on the territory of the plant.

Recently, RBC-Ukraine reported that a column of smoke was seen near the plant in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region. At the same time, the region experienced a power outage.

However, according to the Ministry of Energy, the smoke was caused by a forest fire, and there was no threat to nuclear safety.
