IAEA Director dismisses immediate nuclear threat despite Putin's warnings
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, does not expect the use of nuclear weapons at present, despite the threats from the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, according to BR24.
"I do not think that currently, we are seeing conditions for the use of nuclear weapons if we mean the war in Ukraine," he said.
Nuclear threats by Putin
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, in an interview with propagandists, stated that Russia is technically ready for nuclear war.
At the same time, Putin threatened nuclear weapons against Ukraine and the West if the United States sent troops to Ukraine. The dictator stated that Russia would consider such a step as an escalation of war.
Russia possesses the largest arsenal of nuclear warheads in the world. Media outlets have determined how much nuclear weapons Russia has and who controls them.
On February 29, Putin also threatened Western countries with Russian nuclear weapons. He boasted about specific types of weapons that Russia has developed.
