Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó arrived in Minsk on Tuesday, October 28, for a visit. He is scheduled to meet with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, there.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó is visiting Minsk on Tuesday, where he is meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.

The meeting between Szijjártó and Lavrov took place on the sidelines of the Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.

"The path to safe and successful dialogue leads through Eurasia; only East-West dialogue can improve the critical security situation in the world today," Szijjártó writes.

Moreover, Szijjártó began his speech in Russian, calling for the resumption of international cooperation. He also declared Budapest's readiness to provide a platform for negotiations between Russia and the West.

"Of course, I will be criticized a lot for my participation, but the global security situation is so bad that I have to be here today," says the Hungarian Foreign Minister.

Hungarian drones over Ukraine

Hungary may have been monitoring the Ukrainian defense industry using reconnaissance drones.

"Ukrainian forces recorded violations of our airspace by reconnaissance drones, which are likely Hungarian. Preliminary assessments suggest they may have been conducting reconnaissance on the industrial potential of Ukraine’s border areas," Zelenskyy said after a report by Armed Forces Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed Hungarian reconnaissance officers in the Zakarpattia region. On May 9, they were gathering information about the region's defense capabilities, in particular about vulnerabilities in ground and air defenses.
