"Brussels and the Tisza Party support Ukraine’s EU membership. This would destroy the Hungarian economy. We won’t let them decide our future over our heads. I’ve already voted," he wrote, explaining his position.

Hungary opposes Ukraine’s EU membership

Hungary has been blocking the launch of accession talks between Ukraine and the European Union. Prime Minister Orbán has repeatedly stated he does not support Ukraine joining the bloc.

He also organized a survey for Hungarians to find out their opinion on Ukraine's membership in the EU.

On April 14, Hungary’s opposition party Tisza published the results of its own survey, showing that 58% of respondents support Ukraine’s EU accession.

More than 1.1 million people took part in it.
