Russia has deployed over 700,000 of its soldiers along the front line, the highest number since the start of the war, stated the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, in an interview with Sky News.

The general said that along the approximately 1,255-kilometer front line, more than 710,000 Russian soldiers are stationed.

Syrskyi also emphasized that Russia loses around 1,000–1,100 soldiers daily, killed or wounded, with most being irrecoverable losses.

In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that over 700,000 Russian soldiers were stationed along the front line in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, in June, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that approximately 695,000 Russian soldiers were in Ukraine, with an additional 52,000 Russian forces concentrated in the border areas of Russia opposite Kharkiv and Sumy.

On March 3, Deputy Chief of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence, Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, told RBC-Ukraine that the number of ground troops engaged in combat against Ukraine was around 620,000.

At the same time, Russian losses since the start of the full-scale war have been enormous.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russia has lost about 1,178,610 personnel since the start of the war. Just on December 4 alone, Russian losses amounted to 1,240 troops.
