How commander's loss affects Russian Black Sea Fleet - Ukrainian Navy explains
The elimination of the Russian Black Sea Fleet commander Viktor Sokolov poses a problem for Russian troops' leadership, according to a spokesperson for Ukrainian Navy Dmytro Pletenchuk.
He reminded that Russia has admirals to manage fleets, and they know well the state of their forces, and personnel, how to properly control and deploy them.
"And now they are losing the person who manages all these processes. Along with him, his staff, which also manages the fleet, is being lost. Because it is necessary to understand that this is a quite significant grouping," Pletenchuk explains.
He notes that managing a fleet requires a certain number of managers who oversee key processes. But now, the main part of this mechanism has become non-functional.
"Tonight they were still striking out of inertia. But, as I already said today, it's like a headless chicken running. It runs and does something, but it's already dead. So, as of now, they will have problems with troops control," the Navy spokesperson added.
