Houthis launch missile attack on Israel from Yemen

Yemeni Houthis launched a missile toward Israel overnight on July 7 in response to the IDF’s Black Flag operation, according to the press service of the Israel Defense Forces.
"The IDF has identified the launch of a missile from Yemen toward Israeli territory, aerial defense systems are operating to intercept the threat," the IDF reported.
The military urged the public to follow all instructions issued by the Home Front Command.
Following the missile launch from Yemen, rocket alert sirens were activated in several areas of Israel, including the Jerusalem area, the Dead Sea coast, and Judea.
The IDF called on citizens to continue following all instructions issued by the Home Front Command.
At 4:20 AM local time, the Israel Defense Forces reported that two missiles were launched from Yemen, not one as initially assumed. Interception attempts were carried out.
Operation Black Flag in Yemen
On July 7, it was reported that the Israel Defense Forces carried out Operation Black Flag in Yemen. The Israeli Air Force launched powerful strikes on ports and power stations. Israel explained that these facilities were being used by the Houthis for terrorist activities.
Shortly before the operation, the Yemeni militant group carried out its first attack in months on a cargo ship in the Red Sea. The strike caused a fire on board, and the vessel began taking on water.
The crew managed to evacuate in time.
The Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it was carried out in "support of Palestinians" in Gaza.
