President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski. The latter arrived today, December 22, on a visit to Ukraine, according to the press service of the Office of the President.

During the meeting, the president emphasized the importance of the first visit of the newly appointed head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Ukraine. He particularly thanked Warsaw for its support to our country in countering full-scale Russian aggression and for providing shelter to refugees.

What was discussed

  • The parties agreed that bilateral relations should receive a new impetus, and all problematic issues should be resolved in the spirit of trust and respect.

"We hope for the opening of a new page in our relations. We are very strong neighbors with a shared history. We are glad to see you here. I hope that the Prime Minister of Poland will also visit Ukraine at the earliest opportunity," the president said.

  • They addressed further cooperation in the defense sphere and the key needs of our soldiers.
  • Discussed establishing joint production and the potential procurement of Polish weaponry that has shown results on the battlefield.
  • Discussed preparing for the next meeting at the level of leaders' advisors regarding the implementation of the Peace Formula, as well as the Global Peace Summit.

Visit of the Polish Foreign Minister to Ukraine

Poland has been actively assisting Ukraine since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion. This support has encompassed both armaments and humanitarian aid, along with political aid.

Today, on December 22nd, the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, arrived in Kyiv on a visit. This marks his first diplomatic trip in his new role.

As reported by the spokesperson of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pavel Vronsky, during his visit, Sikorski was expected to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, and several other officials.

It is anticipated that the head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs will announce a new aid package for Ukraine.
