Historic first: Ukraine earns aerobic gymnastics medal at the World Games

Ukrainian pair advanced to the final

The Ukrainian team achieved a historic success at the World Games 2025 in sports aerobics: the mixed pair of Anastasiia Kurashvili and Stanislav Halaida won a bronze medal.

The Ukrainian athletes began their performance in the qualification round with six teams competing there.

To reach the final, it was necessary to be in the top four. Kurashvili and Halaida scored 18.900 points and took the last qualifying spot, surpassing their closest rivals from Brazil by 1.350 points.

Final and fight for podium

In the final stage of the tournament, the Ukrainian pair competed against teams from Italy, Azerbaijan, and Japan.

For their performance, Anastasiia and Stanislav received 18.900 points, including 3.150 for difficulty, 8.750 for artistry, and 7.000 for execution.

This allowed them to beat the Italian pair by 1.5 points and fall short of the Azerbaijani duo, who won silver, by only 0.850 points.

The victory went to the athletes from Japan with a score of 20.150 points, while silver went to Azerbaijan with 19.750 points.

Historic result for Ukraine

This medal is Ukraine's first in sports aerobics at the World Games, and the country's 11th bronze at the 2025 World Games. In total, Ukrainian athletes have already won 35 medals: 15 gold, 9 silver, and 11 bronze.
