Hezbollah shells northern Israel, IDF destroys militant missile launcher
On Sunday, September 29, Hezbollah launched shells at Israel targeting the Sde Eliezer area. In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) destroyed the militants’ launcher responsible for the attack, according to the Israeli Defense Forces.
It was reported that, since midday on Sunday, IDF fighter jets have struck dozens of Hezbollah targets across Lebanon.
The strikes included missile launchers aimed at Israeli territory, buildings storing weapons, and terrorist infrastructure used by Hezbollah for activities against Israel.
In addition, air raid sirens sounded in Haifa and nearby areas in northern Israel on Sunday evening. Israel’s air defense system successfully intercepted a projectile launched from Lebanon.
Risk of full-scale war between Israel and Lebanon
In recent months, the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, with Iranian support, has intensified its shelling of northern Israel. This has led to mass evacuations of Israelis and retaliatory IDF strikes on southern Lebanon.
On Saturday, Israel conducted a series of strikes in Lebanon, resulting in the elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
In response, Iran threatened to annihilate Israel.
The United States has expressed concern over the risk of a full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah and is pushing for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
