Hezbollah shelled Israel - IDF intercepted drone over Mediterranean Sea
Israeli military forces intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle over the sea, west of the country’s coastline, according to the Israel Defense Forces' Telegram channel.
It was noted that the IDF's air defense system intercepted the drone over the Mediterranean Sea, several dozen kilometers west of Israel's central coastline.
The military also reported that the previous evening, 10 rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Some of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, while others landed in open areas.
There is no information about casualties.
Escalation in the Middle East
In recent weeks, exchanges of fire between the Israeli army and militants from the Lebanese Hezbollah group have significantly intensified.
On Monday, IDF forces established a closed military zone near the border with Lebanon.
Lebanese military units retreated from the Israeli border.
On the night of October 1, Israeli aircraft struck Hezbollah targets in the suburbs of Beirut.
Later, Israel announced the launch of a ground operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
