Heat wave causes fires at energy facilities in Ukraine
Fires broke out at energy facilities in Ukraine due to the heat wave. Both occurred in the western part of the country, according to the Ministry of Energy.
"In the western region, a high-voltage overhead line was turned off due to a fire caused by the heat. The fire has been extinguished, and the line is now back in operation," the statement said.
Besides, a high-voltage substation went offline at night, which led to a blackout of the overhead line connecting the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova.
"Due to the heat, a fire broke out at the substation and was extinguished," the Energy Ministry added.
