Head of Zelenskyy's Office and Rubio discuss ceasefire prospects between Ukraine and Russia

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak had a phone call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The main topic of discussion was the ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, according to Yermak on Telegram.
According to him, this was the first call with Rubio since his appointment as the Acting US National Security Advisor. The discussion also involved US Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Keith Kellogg. The Ukrainian side was represented by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
"The main focus was on the issue of a ceasefire and the prospects for a peaceful settlement. We also specifically discussed the importance of implementing the points agreed upon by our presidents (President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Donald Trump - ed.)," the head of the Office of the President clarified.
He mentioned that the participants of the talks highly appreciated the ratification by the Rada of the minerals deal. This document opens a new stage in relations between the two countries and creates additional opportunities for cooperation.
Yermak thanked the partners for their constant support and constructive dialogue.
Ceasefire proposal
Earlier, Reuters, citing sources, reported that the US, together with Europe, is finalizing a proposal for a ceasefire of at least 30 days between Ukraine and Russia.
The outlet's sources note that if Russia does not agree to this step, the US and Europe will impose joint sanctions on it.
At the same time, Yermak himself only today mentioned that Ukraine and the US are discussing a deadline for Russia regarding the ceasefire. If Russia does not agree to the ceasefire within the set timeframe, the US will exert pressure on it.
