Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office says West must force Russia to negotiate, Ukraine will triumph

Western countries must pressure Russia and force it to come to the negotiating table. Ukraine will emerge victorious, as it is strong and seeks only a fair and lasting peace, states Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with Newsmax.
He emphasized that in the current difficult situation, Ukraine will not lose this war, and Russia will not win.
To support his point, the head of the President’s Office cited three key factors.
First, he noted, the official Kyiv had previously asked Western countries to provide Ukraine with weapons, saying that they would see how Ukraine fights.
“Now all the world recognizes that Ukrainians are one of the best in the history of the world fighters,” Yermak said.
Second, the head of the President’s Office pointed out, Ukraine requested financial assistance from the West to establish its own weapons production, and now the entire world acknowledges that they are leader in drone production.
Third, Yermak emphasized, Kyiv is now asking its allies to pressure Russia.
“Now we ask, please, press to Russia. Push Russia to the table of negotiations. And you can see that even at the table of the negotiations, we will be the winner, because we are strong. And what we want... We want just a lasting peace,” the head of the President’s Office stressed.
To illustrate Ukraine’s intentions, he cited a quote from former US President Donald Trump, spoken during a White House summit: “I am not interested in the solution for the month and just for a couple of years. I want it for a long period of time.”
“And this is possible only through just lasting peace,” Yermak added.
On August 29, Andrii Yermak made an official visit to New York, where he met with US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff
Following the talks, the head of the President’s Office noted that the US is not pressuring Ukraine to make territorial concessions to Russia in exchange for peace and that Washington is not exerting pressure on Kyiv on this matter.
Additionally, Yermak stated that effective peace negotiations with Russia require a complete ceasefire. According to him, it is difficult to conduct dialogue while the country is being shelled by drones and missiles.
