Head of IAEA confirms his intention to visit Kursk Nuclear Power Plant
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has confirmed that he plans to visit the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant next week, according to IAEA.
According to the IAEA, today the Russians reported that remains of a drone were allegedly found on the territory of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant.
In Russia, it was claimed that the drone fragments were reportedly located about 100 meters from the spent nuclear fuel storage.
As a result, Grossi decided to personally assess the situation at the plant during his visit next week.
During his visit, the head of the IAEA will evaluate the situation on-site and discuss conditions for further activities that may be required to assess nuclear safety and security at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant.
"Military activity in the vicinity of a nuclear power plant is a serious risk to nuclear safety and security. My visit to KNPP next week will provide us with timely access to independently assess the situation," Grossi said.

Today, the American media outlet Bloomberg reported that in the coming days, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi plans to visit the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant in Russia and then travel to Kyiv.
He expects to discuss the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in the Kursk region with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the source, Grossi stated that the IAEA is "extremely concerned" about the combat activities that could affect the area around the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant. He noted that the plant has old Soviet reactors without the necessary protective dome.
It is worth mentioning that Russian propagandists have repeatedly claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces intend to seize the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant.
