US presidential candidate Kamala Harris delivered her latest speech to tens of thousands of people, warning that a second Trump administration would bring chaos and division, stating that it is time to turn the page, reports Axios.

One week before Election Day, Harris stated that America is not a vessel for the schemes of wannabe dictators, but rather the greatest idea humanity ever devised.

"In 7 days, we have the power to turn the page, and start writing the next chapter in the most extraordinary story ever told," said the US Vice President.

Axios notes that the Democratic candidate spoke at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. - the same location where former President Donald Trump addressed his supporters on January 6, 2021, just minutes before a furious mob of his followers stormed the Capitol. According to Axios, standing in that very spot, Harris declared that her Republican opponent is unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance, and out for unchecked power.

"He is the person who stood at this very spot nearly four years ago and sent an armed mob to the United States Capitol to overturn the will of the people in a free and fair election that he knew he lost," Harris stated.

Axios added that in the final days of her campaign, the US Vice President intensified her rhetoric, portraying the former president as a fundamental threat to the republic and vowing to be a president for all Americans.

She also acknowledged on Tuesday that America's biggest challenge is to bring down costs that have been rising even before the pandemic and that are still too high.

Polling consistently shows that the economy is the most important issue for voters. In light of this, some Democrats are concerned that voters have limited knowledge of Harris's economic platform.

During her speech, the Vice President sought to contrast her plan with Trump's, stating that he would provide tax cuts for his billionaire donors, while she would offer tax relief for workers and the middle class.

To remind voters of her economic positions, she stated that she would enact a federal ban on food price increases, implement price caps on insulin, and limit out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs.

Another area of policy that concerns millions of Americans is immigration, which is a central theme of Trump's campaign.

"Politicians must stop treating immigration as an issue to scare up votes in an election. And instead, treat it as a serious challenge that we must finally come together and solve," Harris said.

At the same time, Trump's campaign responded to her remarks, stating that the Vice President has spent the last four years working hand in hand with Joe Biden to dismantle the US. And now she is lying about her record because she cannot offer any political solutions.

In addition to the aforementioned points, Harris shared details about her motivation for leadership at her final rally before the election, as polls indicate that Americans still want to know more about the Vice President.

She stated her commitment to holding accountable those who use their wealth or power to profit at the expense of others and to protecting hardworking Americans who are not always seen or heard but deserve a voice.

Harris, who at 60 is 18 years younger than the 78-year-old Trump, emphasized that America is ready for a new generation of leaders.

"On day one, if elected, Donald Trump would walk into that office with an enemies list. When elected, I will walk in, with a to-do list," she said.
