Harris condemns political violence after new attempt on Trump's life
US Vice President Kamala Harris expressed deep concern and condemned "political violence" following a suspected assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump that occurred on Sunday, citing CNN.
"I am deeply disturbed by the possible assassination attempt of former President Trump today. As we gather the facts, I will be clear: I condemn political violence. We all must do our part to ensure that this incident does not lead to more violence," Harris said.
She also expressed gratitude to the US Secret Service and law enforcement agencies for their actions, noting that Trump is safe.
The Vice President assured that President Joe Biden's administration would provide the Secret Service with all necessary resources to carry out their protective mission.
New attempt on Trump
On Sunday evening, Donald Trump's campaign reported that the former president is safe following a shooting incident near him.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation described the event as "an attempted murder of former President Trump."
The incident occurred at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Secret Service agents who were guarding Trump noticed an armed man and fired at him. The man fled but was later apprehended in a vehicle. The suspect is currently in custody.
