Greenland’s PM says US will not get the island despite Trump’s attempts

The US will not be able to acquire Greenland, despite President Donald Trump's ambitions to take control of the island. The island's residents will decide their own future, according to Greenland's new Prime Minister, Jens-Frederik Nielsen.
The prime minister noted that Greenland must listen when the country is mentioned from abroad. However, it should not succumb to external pressure.
He rejected Trump's attempts to claim the island and made it clear that the US will not get Greenland.
"President Trump says that the United States is getting Greenland. Let me be clear: The United States won't get that. We do not belong to anyone else. We determine our own future," Nielsen stated.
The prime minister added that the people of Greenland will not determine their future through fear or coercion. In response to the US, they must react with peace, dignity, and unity.
"And it is through these values that we must clearly, clearly, and calmly show the American president that Greenland is ours. It was like that yesterday. That’s how it is today. And that’s how it will be in the future," he emphasized.
Trump’s attempts on Greenland
Since taking office, President Donald Trump has regularly expressed his intention to "buy" and take control of Greenland, claiming it is "necessary for international security."
In Greenland, which is an autonomous territory of Denmark, there has been opposition to joining the US. Protests against Trump’s policies have taken place on the island. Denmark also rejects the possibility of selling the island.
Recently, US Vice President JD Vance visited Greenland with his wife. During the visit, he stated that the US will not be increasing its military presence in Greenland for now but remains focused on its security.
Today, Trump expressed confidence that the US will take control of Greenland. He believes it will happen 100%.
Additionally, Trump once again hinted that the US might attempt to establish control over Greenland, even by military force.
