'Great honor': Trump praises his meeting with Zelenskyy

US President Donald Trump comments on his meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in Washington on July 28. According to him, the meeting went very well.
"Great honor to meet with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine. Many things were discussed. The meeting went very well!" Trump says.
Trump also posted several photos from the meeting on social media, in which both leaders are posing for the media at the White House.
Zelenskyy's visit to Washington
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is currently on a visit to the United States. Among the President’s main objectives is to negotiate a joint production agreement with the Americans for interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense systems; Zelenskyy also discussed putting pressure on Moscow and ways to achieve peace in Ukraine.
Another important issue raised during the meeting with Trump was the anti-Russian sanctions, which were authored in part by Senator Lindsey Graham, who was laid to rest today.
The bill imposing restrictions on Russia was called tough sanctions for a reason—it imposes massive tariffs on countries that purchase energy resources from Russia. This includes oil, gas, and their derivatives.
The sanctions also target Russia’s shadow fleet, financial institutions, including the Central Bank of Russia, certain individuals, major Russian industrial facilities, and more.
While in the US, Zelenskyy attended a memorial service for Lindsey Graham, a senator who, along with his colleague Richard Blumenthal and other members of the American political establishment, actively worked on the sanctions.

Among other things, as Zelenskyy himself stated, the US President observed Russia's unwillingness not only to make peace with Ukraine but also to agree to a temporary ceasefire.
