Governor of Russia's Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, wants school windows to be covered with old textbooks. He believes this could help protect against attacks, according to Vazhnyye Istorii.

During a meeting with the regional government, Gladkov said he liked an "unconventional" method of protecting windows from the attacks, used by School No. 3 in the city of Shebekino.

"I liked that in one of the schools, specifically the third one, I saw old textbooks that are no longer used in the educational process being stacked to cover the windows, reinforcing them and creating additional safe zones. Of course, it doesn’t guarantee 100% effectiveness, but it does make things safer," Gladkov said.

He urged schools and kindergartens to pay attention to this. At the same time, the governor cynically stated that this method "doesn’t require extra money, yet provides quite a lot of effectiveness."

The official also requested that schools avoid using new textbooks for window protection, so as "not to leave children without an educational process."

Russia drops bombs on the Belgorod region

Earlier, media outlets repeatedly reported that Russian planes had been "dropping" guided aerial bombs on their own territory.

In particular, on August 30, an aerial bomb was found in the village of Polevoy in the Novy Oskol district of the Belgorod region.

Additionally, on September 1, an aerial bomb fell on the Alexandrovka hamlet in the Shebekino district of the Belgorod region.
