Over the coming years, Germany will provide Ukraine with €9 billion annually, stated German Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"As Finance Minister, I emphasized, and this has also been agreed upon by the Federal Government, that we are committed to supporting Ukraine in the coming years, spending €9 billion annually," Klingbeil said.

He also discussed with Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko the continuation and options for supporting Ukraine.

Germany's support for Ukraine

Earlier, German Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil stated that Germany would participate in providing security guarantees to Ukraine alongside European partners. However, negotiations are at an early stage, and decisions are to be determined by Kyiv.

Klingbeil also stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin should have no illusions about Germany’s support for Ukraine wavering.

"Ukraine can continue to rely on Germany," he said.
