Germany will significantly increase military aid to Ukraine. In particular, it plans to provide equipment for four Ukrainian mechanized infantry brigades, nt-v reports.

"We have promised a significant increase, especially regarding weapons systems and air defense," sources in the German government said following the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing.

Germany also wants to support Ukraine's offensive capabilities, for example, by helping in the production of high-precision weapons, including long-range cruise missiles.

In addition, Germany plans to provide equipment for four Ukrainian mechanized infantry brigades.

"That is almost 500 vehicles per year," the sources specified.

Germany's plans for assistance to Ukraine

According to Spiegel, the German government wants to strengthen Ukraine's air defense. An annual increase of 20 percent is planned, taking into account the number of weapons systems and their effectiveness.

In addition, it is planned to improve Kyiv's offensive air capabilities. This refers to long-range high-precision weapons, such as cruise missiles, which are produced in Ukraine with financial and technological support.

At the same time, Ukraine may be provided with equipment for four mechanized infantry brigades, which would mean about 480 infantry vehicles per year, including armored personnel carriers.

According to Germany, other important components of security guarantees are:

  • Continued training of Ukrainian soldiers,

  • Close cooperation between the defense industries of Ukraine and European states.
