German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated that the drone threat is high, and the country will take measures to protect itself, according to Reuters.

The agency notes that European authorities have been on high alert following several drone incursions in Denmark over the past week, which led to temporary airspace closures.

“There is a threat that can be classified as high when it comes to drones. It is an abstract threat, but very concrete in individual caseы,” the German Interior Minister said.

According to Dobrindt, among the measures under consideration, Germany may review its aviation security law to allow the country’s armed forces to potentially shoot down drones.

“It's about being prepared so that critical infrastructure or large gatherings of people, for example, can be protected,” the Interior Minister added.

Putin tests Europe

On Saturday, September 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with journalists.

During the conversation, he said that the Kremlin is using drone provocations to test Europe’s response. The president also warned that the Russian dictator plans to open a new front of hostilities even before the war in Ukraine ends.
