German Defense Minister arrives in Kyiv: Details

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv. Plans to discuss the situation in Ukraine, as well as further support for the country, according to Spiegel.
The media writes that during the trip, Pistorius will meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"We will do everything to support Ukraine so that it can defend itself and find itself in such a position where Russia will be ready for serious negotiations," Pistorius stated before the trip.
Support for Ukraine from Germany
During the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, Germany became one of Kyiv’s key partners, providing large-scale military, financial, and humanitarian aid. Berlin transferred to Ukraine modern weapons, in particular IRIS-T air defense systems, Patriot surface-to-air missile systems, Leopard 2 tanks, armored vehicles, ammunition, and other military equipment.
Germany also supports Ukraine in the economic and humanitarian spheres. In addition, it actively advocates for its EU membership.
During the last Ramstein meeting, Germany approved a new military aid package worth 5 billion euros (5.76 billion dollars), which includes:
-
financing of long-range weapons that will be produced in Ukraine;
-
transfer of air defense systems, weapons, and ammunition.
