German defense minister announces hundreds of millions in funding for Ukraine's long-range drones

Following the 31st Ramstein meeting, Germany will provide an additional €400 million for the production of Ukraine's long-range drones, in addition to other military aid, stated German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius at a press conference.
"Germany is providing €400 million to purchase long-range drones. This helps Ukraine strike Russian logistical targets far beyond the front line. We are seeing successes," he said.
Pistorius also mocked Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying that it is "increasingly difficult for him to present this war as a success." He added that Germany has already provided €9 billion in aid to Ukraine and will continue to do so, with a focus on air defense systems.
"Our support will remain at this level. From this amount, we are now preparing a €2 billion package. It will include missile defense systems, the most advanced radar technologies, and ammunition. We are also, of course, participating in PURL, with a $500 million investment," he concluded.
Pistorius previously announced at the Ramstein meeting that Berlin would provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth over €2 billion, primarily aimed at strengthening Ukraine's air defense.
Pistorius also announced the launch of a new initiative to support Ukraine's military. It will involve a comprehensive program for the maintenance and repair of Western equipment received by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including numerous German-made systems.
