General Staff updates situation on frontline - 130 clashes, 2800 shellings per day
Since the beginning of Thursday, July 4th, there have been 130 combat clashes on the frontline. The Russian army targeted Ukraine with missiles and dozens of guided aerial bombs, intensifying attacks along the entire front line, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Russian forces inflicted one missile strike, and 38 airstrikes using 76 guided aerial bombs, and employed 473 kamikaze drones on Ukrainian territory.
Additionally, the enemy conducted over 2800 shelling incidents targeting our troops' positions and populated areas using various types of weaponry.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction throughout the day, Russian forces supported by aviation carried out 18 attacks near Sotnytskyi Kozachok, Hlyboke, Lyptsi, and Vovchansk. Defense Forces successfully repelled 14 enemy assaults, with four ongoing engagements.
According to preliminary reports, enemy losses since the start of the day amounted to 128 Russian solders killed and wounded. One artillery system, two tanks, six armored vehicles, and six cars were destroyed. Additionally, 43 personnel shelters and one ammunition storage facility were hit.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian military positions four times in the areas of Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, and Novoselivka. They did not succeed.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attempted to advance 14 times near Hrekivka, Makiivka, and Terni. Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 enemy attacks, with one ongoing battle near Nevske.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy launched offensive actions eight times in the areas of Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, and Vyiimky. Four attacks were unsuccessful, while four are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces conducted 14 assaults in the areas of Kalynivka, Hryhorivka, and Klishchiivka. Eleven attacks ended unsuccessfully for the enemy, with three engagements still ongoing. The situation remains under the control of the Defense Forces units.
In the Toretsk direction, the situation is tense. Russian forces made 18 unsuccessful attacks near Pivnichne, Toretsk, and New York.
In the Pokrovsk direction, there remains a high intensity of combat operations with the number of engagements rising to 33. Invaders continue to exert pressure on Ukrainian defensive positions near Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Kalynove, Prohres, Lozuvatske, Novoselivka Persha, Yevhenivka, and Yasnobrodivka. Ukrainian forces have repelled 23 enemy attacks, with 10 ongoing engagements.
Preliminary losses for the Russian army in this area amount to 234 killed and wounded. Additionally, one tank and one combat armored vehicle have been destroyed.
In the Kurakhove direction, there have been 10 combat engagements so far today. Russian forces unsuccessfully attempted to advance in the areas near the populated settlements of Krasnohorivka, Nevelske, and Paraskevivka. Nine attacks were repelled, and one is ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction today, the Russian army assaulted our front lines seven times in the areas of Vodiane and Makarivka. Ukrainian soldiers halted six enemy attacks, with one ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, there were two enemy attacks near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, two attempts by the enemy to capture our troops' positions near Krynyky were unsuccessful.
Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the pressure from Russian forces.
Frontline situation
The situation on the front remains tense. Since July 4th, the highest number of battles has been recorded in the Pokrovsk direction in the Donetsk region.
Simultaneously, Russian forces have begun to decrease the number of assaults in the Toretsk direction.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian forces have lost over 547 soldiers. Just on July 3rd, Defense Forces eliminated another 1200 Russian militaries.
