General Staff: Russia intensifies in Kurakhove direction, attacks with aviation support

Since the beginning of the day, the number of combat clashes has risen to 88. The enemy is actively operating in the Kurakhove direction, where they have carried out a quarter of all attacks, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the General Staff, the Russian forces continue to use aviation and artillery against the border areas of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. In particular, artillery shelling has targeted the areas around the settlements of Karpovychi, Progres, Uhroidy, Stepok, Vysoke, Buchky, and Semenivka. Enemy aviation has carried out strikes with guided bombs on the areas around the settlements of Malushyne, Obody, Richky, Katerynivka, Bondarivshchyna, Pysarivka, and Hlukhiv, using a total of 14 guided aerial bombs so far.
The enemy has launched four missile strikes on the city of Sumy. Additionally, today, the adversary has dropped 17 guided bombs on the Kursk region of Russia.
Frontline situation
The enemy has attacked our positions six times in the Kupiansk direction. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assaults near Synkivka, Novoosynoive, and in the direction of Lozova. One clash in the area of Kruhlyakivka is still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, enemy attacks persist in the areas of Cherneshchyna, Druzheliubivka, Makiivka, and Torske. Since the beginning of the day, there have been eight clashes in this area, with two still ongoing. The situation is under control.
In the Siversk direction, the adversary attacked near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka, attempting to breach our defenses twice. Both attacks were repelled.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the invaders carried out five assault actions near Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Klishchiivka. One clash is still ongoing near the settlement of Bila Hora.
Seven enemy attacks occurred in the Toretsk direction, with the enemy mainly attacking near Toretsk and Nelipivka. Our defenders have provided a strong resistance. Five clashes have already concluded. Additionally, the aggressor's aviation struck with unguided rockets and guided bombs on Shcherbynivka, Petrivka, and Druzhba.
Since the beginning of the day, in the Pokrovsk direction, Russia has made 19 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Hrodivka, Novotoretske, Orlivka, Mykolaivka, Ukrainsk, and have attacked towards Zelene Pole. The defense forces, while holding the line, have repelled 14 enemy attacks, with five clashes still ongoing.
The largest number of clashes currently is in the Kurakhove direction. Supported by aviation, the invaders have attempted to advance 22 times near Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Pershe, Hirske, Heorhiivka, and Kostiantynivka. Six clashes are still ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, the invaders have attacked six times towards Vuhledar and Katerynivka, with three attacks still ongoing.
The settlement of Verbove in the Huliaypole direction was hit by unguided rockets.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, two enemy attacks have been repelled. There have been no significant changes in other areas of the front.
Russian losses
As of Tuesday, September 17, Ukrainian forces have inflicted losses on the Russian army, eliminating 1,020 enemy soldiers. Additionally, two tanks, six armored combat vehicles, and six artillery systems have been destroyed, significantly weakening the enemy's firepower.
