Gaza peace talks exclude Israel and Hamas

A new round of international talks will be held in Egypt, where world leaders will discuss ways to end the war in the Gaza Strip. However, the main parties to the conflict, Israel and Hamas, were not invited to the summit, according to Axios correspondent Barak Ravid on X.
On Monday, October 13, an international summit dedicated to the final resolution of the war in the Gaza Strip will take place in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The summit is organized by the Egyptian authorities with support from the US, which has sent official invitations to representatives of more than twenty countries.
According to the Egyptian authorities and confirmed by correspondent Barak Ravid, delegations from Spain, Japan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Hungary, India, El Salvador, Cyprus, Greece, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Canada will participate in the talks.
High-level representatives are also expected from the UK, Germany, France, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Indonesia.
Exclusion of Israel and Hamas
Sources indicate that the key parties to the conflict, Israel and Hamas, were not invited to the meeting. Organizers believe that their presence could complicate open dialogue. However, discussions regarding their role in the peace process will remain one of the central topics on the summit’s agenda.
The US hopes that consultations in Sharm El-Sheikh will serve as a step toward forming a unified international position on stabilizing the situation and preventing further escalation of violence.
Israeli authorities stated that the agreement on hostage release and the establishment of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip can only take effect after official approval by the Cabinet of Ministers.
US President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Israel on Sunday, October 12, around 3:00 p.m. The public broadcaster Kan reported the date of the visit, although the American leader has not officially confirmed it. Ahead of his arrival, the Knesset building in Jerusalem was illuminated in red, white, and blue, the colors of the US, and this lighting will remain until the visit concludes.
