Frontline plans, intelligence tasks, and Russia's intentions: Topics Zelenskyy discusses with military and intelligence
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held several conversations with the Ukrainian military and intelligence. Among others, there were reports from the head of Ukrainian intelligence Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) Vasyl Maliuk, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, according to the president's video address.
According to Zelenskyy, the meeting with Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Anatoliy Barhilevych included discussions on frontline issues and tasks.
"Despite all the deficits, the ability of our soldiers to destroy occupiers should not diminish. The Commander-in-Chief regularly visits the frontlines. Real combat commanders from the frontlines and brigades are involved in decision-making. Today, I approved and signed a number of necessary new appointments for the Armed Forces," the president explaines.
The head of state also reveals that he separately held a meeting with Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.
"We discussed arms supplies, fair and proper provision for the brigades. Each combat brigade, each frontline unit should receive more modern weapons," Zelenskyy states.
Additionally, according to the president, he and Umerov separately discussed the topic of drones, including long-range ones.
Zelenskyy mentions that he also received a report from intelligence chief Budanov.
"Our special operations. We need clear results in destroying Russian military infrastructure and logistics. A greater result. And it will happen," he emphasizes.
Moreover, according to Zelenskyy, during today's briefing, the head of the SSU reported on Ukrainian resistance to Russian sabotage and collaborators, as well as shared "good results in neutralizing these individuals."
"There was a report from external intelligence, Lytvynenko. Regarding sensitive international directions and Russia's existing plans. We understand what documents are on the enemy's table, what their next plan is. We will resist," Zelenskyy concludes.
Military audit
Recently, the leader of the Servant of the People faction in the Parliament, Davyd Arakhamia, revealed that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, was conducting an audit of the Armed Forces.
The deputy noted that during the audit, entire units of Ukrainian soldiers were identified who, over two years of full-scale war, "have never been on the frontline."
