From Sept 8-13, magnetic storms could disrupt your sleep and work — Here's when

At the beginning of the second decade of September, the Sun will show increased activity. In the coming days, many people will be able to feel the activity, as magnetic storms will not bypass our planet. When do scientists predict magnetic storms between September 8 and 13, who should be careful, and how to prepare?
Magnetic storm forecast
September 8-9: moderate disturbances expected at the Kp-4 level, possible short-term health deterioration
September 10-11: weaker activity, Kp-4 or lower
September 12-13: the magnetosphere stabilizes, storms are unlikely
Why magnetic storms occur
Magnetic storms occur as a result of solar flares, when a huge amount of energy, ultraviolet radiation, and charged particles are released into space.
High-speed solar wind streams reach Earth within hours or a few days, and cause geomagnetic disturbances. Such phenomena can last from several days to two weeks, affecting high, medium, and even low latitudes.
How storms affect your body
Most vulnerable:
- People with cardiovascular diseases
- Those with hypertension
- Weather-sensitive individuals
- Those with sleep disorders
Possible symptoms:
- Headache, dizziness
- Blood pressure fluctuations
- Irritability, reduced concentration
- Fatigue, drowsiness
How to ease your condition during storms
Advice from doctors and researchers:
- Drink water
- Avoid coffee, alcohol, and heavy foods
- Avoid stress
- Take walks in the fresh air
- Get 7-9 hours of sleep
- Monitor blood pressure
- Take medications prescribed by your doctor if needed
