France is open to the idea of inviting Ukraine to NATO. The country will continue negotiations with its allies on this issue, states French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.

During his visit to Kyiv, Barrot said that his country was open to the idea of inviting Ukraine to join NATO.

“Regarding the invitation for Ukraine to join NATO, we are open to it and it's a discussion that we are having with our partners,” the French Foreign Minister emphasized.

Ukraine's accession to NATO

Earlier today, Le Monde reported that the United States no longer opposes Ukraine's invitation to join NATO.

The change in the US position may further influence Berlin's opinion.

Ukraine's accession to NATO is one of the main goals of the country's foreign policy, which has been discussed more actively since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasized that Ukraine's invitation to NATO and future membership will be real steps towards peace.
