Former federal prosecutor Jessica Aber was found dead in the United States. She was investigating CIA leaks, Russian fraud, and war crimes in Ukraine, according to New York Post.

Former US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Jessica Aber was found dead in her home on Saturday, March 24.

Alexandria police found her unconscious at 9:20 a.m. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the 43-year-old lawyer's death.

Before her resignation in January, Aber handled a number of important cases. She led the investigation into former CIA analyst Asif Rahman, who leaked classified documents about the Israeli strike on Iran on Telegram.

She also led the case against the executives of Eleview International Inc. who smuggled more than six million dollars worth of American technology to Russia. In addition, under her leadership, the prosecutor's office charged two Russian citizens with large-scale cyber fraud and money laundering.

Aber also participated in the first criminal prosecution of the Russian military for crimes against a US citizen in Ukraine. 4 Russian soldiers are accused of kidnapping and torturing an American in the Kherson region.

Alexandria authorities said that the cause and circumstances of Aber's death will be determined by a forensic medical examination. According to preliminary data, she died due to a long-standing medical problem.

Two former high-ranking officials of the US Department of Justice also said that investigators found no signs of a violent death.

Investigating Russian crimes

The international group WarCAT, which has been active during the Biden administration, has focused on assisting Ukrainian prosecutors and law enforcement by providing logistical support, training, and assistance in bringing war crimes cases committed by Russians to Ukrainian courts.

One of the most important cases was the use of the US war crimes law to indict four Russian soldiers for torturing an American in Ukraine.

At the same time, the US Department of Justice quietly informed European officials that the United States was withdrawing from the multinational group.

It was created to investigate the actions of people responsible for the invasion of Ukraine, including Vladimir Putin.
