Forget about hair loss with this 5-minute massage

Daily stress, overwork, and lack of sleep are common causes of headaches and hair loss. But there is a simple and pleasant way to avoid this—a head massage. It not only relaxes but also stimulates blood circulation, promoting the growth of healthy hair, according to Mind Body Green.
How to do the massage
Hairdresser Christophe Robin recommends regularly massaging the scalp, noting that it can relieve scalp tension, stimulate hair growth, and improve mood.
According to him, you can start by lightly moisturizing your fingertips with jojoba or almond oil, but this is optional.
First, tilt your head forward so that blood flows to the scalp (or lie down on a bed and let your head hang to the side). Then straighten your head and perform the following four steps:
- Starting from the crown, comb through your hair with your fingers downward, pressing enough to feel the scalp along the length. Avoid using nails to prevent scratching the skin. Do this from the forehead to the nape.
- Next, place your fingers on both sides of the scalp and rub in circular motions. You can also make these small circular movements along the hairline.
- Gently tap your head as if playing the piano—all over. Again, do not neglect the hairline.
- For the final step, take small sections of hair and gently tug them outward.
Self-care does not have to cost money, and the same goes for scalp care.
When you should not do the massage
Scalp massage has many benefits, but there are situations when it should be avoided, as it can worsen the condition or cause complications. The main contraindications for scalp massage include:
Dermatological conditions:
- Fungal infections (ringworm, dermatomycoses)
- Eczema, psoriasis during flare-ups
- Pustular rashes
- Allergic reactions, irritation, or itching of unknown origin
Skin damage
This includes open wounds, scratches, burns, and cuts.
Infectious diseases
Massage should be postponed in cases of cold, flu, fever, and general weakness.
