First glass iPad: Introduction date and characteristics
In a few months, Apple plans to introduce the most revolutionary version of the iPad Pro in its history. The new tablet is expected to feature OLED screens, M3 processors, redesigned aesthetics, a glass body, and support for MagSafe technology, according to the website MacRumors, known for news, rumors, and reports related to Apple.
In 2021, reputable insider Mark Gurman from Bloomberg suggested that in the future, Apple would introduce tablets with a glass back. However, the iPad 2022 retained its aluminum body, and in 2023, Apple did not release any new iPad Pro models.
According to information from MacRumors, all innovations in the iPad lineup were postponed until 2024. A complete revamp of the iPad series is planned for the following year.
The iPad Pro is set to receive a completely new design: the edges will be rounded, and the back panel will be made of glass. Thanks to this change, the new iPad Pros will be compatible with wireless charging and MagSafe technology. Users will be able to attach the tablet to magnetic dock stations and use a Sleep mode with watch faces and widgets, similar to the iPhone.
The screen sizes of the tablets will also increase to 11 and 13 inches, and the display type will change to OLED – a first in iPad history. The performance will improve with the new M3 chip. Additionally, the new models will introduce updated versions of the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard.
The presentation of the new iPad Pro models with 11 and 13-inch screens is expected in the first quarter of 2024.
Furthermore, we reported that Apple continues to work on supporting 6G connectivity.
