The first F-16 fighter jets could arrive in Ukraine after Ukrainian Easter on May 5, according to recent reports. However, the delivery date has been subject to several changes, citing a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, Illia Yevlash.

When asked about any specific timelines for the delivery of the F-16s, Yevlash responded, "Yes, after Easter." However, he also said that the Air Force does not set these deadlines as the dates have changed several times.

"Our task is to work with what is provided to us. We are not responsible for the deliveries directly; that's a matter for higher military-political leadership. When the first fighters arrive in Ukraine, we will certainly talk about it," added Yevlash.

F-16s for Ukraine

As mentioned earlier, Ukraine is set to receive F-16 fighter jets from its allies in the near future. This initiative began with the establishment of an aviation coalition led by the Netherlands and Denmark. Moreover, a number of Kyiv's partners have agreed not only to supply aircraft but also to train Ukrainian pilots and engineers.

Yevlash recently disclosed that Ukraine will also not reject faulty F-16s, which could serve as "donors" during repairs. He also outlined plans to secure the future locations where the aircraft will be stationed.
