President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced his readiness for multilateral talks in January involving Ukraine, the United States, and European countries, and also confirmed his willingness to meet with Russian representatives while answering journalists’ questions.

The head of state said that in January, advisory-level contacts will take place and continue, after which Ukraine proposes moving to leader-level meetings.

"We propose that advisors meet in January, and in January, the leaders meet. We believe there is an opportunity in January for the leaders of Europe, the US, and Ukraine to meet all together," Zelenskyy emphasized.

He added that a package of documents has already been prepared and could be ready for signing in January, provided there is political will from all parties.

Zelenskyy also confirmed that during conversations with US President Donald Trump and European leaders, he raised the possibility of negotiations with the Russian side, including with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I am ready for any format of meeting with Putin. I am not afraid of any format of our meeting. The main thing is that the Russians are not afraid," he stressed.

According to the President, Ukraine is committed to taking active diplomatic steps in January and expects other parties to be ready for substantive decisions.

New working groups

On December 28, a meeting took place in Florida between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump, during which they discussed contentious points of the American peace plan for Ukraine.

After the talks, both leaders spoke to the press. Trump noted some progress on the Donbas issue, emphasizing that no final decisions have been made yet, but the parties have moved closer to an agreement. He also announced the creation of a special working group on peace settlement involving senior US officials.

Earlier, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov reported negotiations with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, which Zelenskyy also joined.

Today, the Ukrainian President announced that a series of important meetings with partners from the Coalition of the Willing, as well as leader-level negotiations, will take place in the near future.
