Rescuers in the Poltava region are working to put out a large-scale fire at an enterprise caused by a massive Russian attack. The fire broke out in several separate locations.

As of the morning of August 20, all fire hotspots have been contained, but firefighting efforts are ongoing.

Two firefighting trains from Ukrzaliznytsia, along with local emergency units, are involved in the operation. No casualties have been reported so far.

Attack on Poltava region

Overnight, Russia launched a massive strike on Poltava region using attack drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles.

Hits were recorded in the Kremenchuk and Lubny districts, damaging administrative buildings of energy enterprises.

In the Lubny district, over 1,400 households and 119 businesses remain without electricity.

Russian forces fired cruise missiles at Kremenchuk from Tu-95MS bombers; however, the city’s air defense system intercepted them.
