To Kyiv arrived the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb. In the course of the visit, he will meet with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.

"Together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha, we met at the beginning of the visit to Ukraine, the President of Finland Alexander Stubb," noted Yermak.

According to him, at the center of the conversations between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the leader of Finland today are security projects, European integration, investments in infrastructure, and guarantees of security for our state.

"Also, we will talk about strengthening pressure on the Russian Federation, sanctions, and the importance of a lasting peace. We are grateful for the consistent and firm support of Finland and, personally, Alexander Stubb. Ukraine, together with partners, is doing everything to bring closer a lasting peace and to guarantee security in Europe," added Yermak.

Position of Stubb regarding the war in Ukraine

Earlier, the President of Finland stated that Russian dictator Volodymyr Putin is not interested in stopping the war in Ukraine, or in achieving at least a truce and cessation of fire.

Stubb took part in a trip of a number of European leaders to Washington in August. There, they held a joint meeting with the President of the USA, Donald Trump, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for discussion of the prospects of peace between Russia and Ukraine.

Already after this meeting, Stubb stated that first it is necessary to achieve peace in Ukraine; however, however several times that Putin is not ready for peace.
